Vijay's speech in 'Makkal Iyakkam' meeting

	Vijay convened a meet with his fans at the Sangeetha Marriage Hall in Chennai on Saturday. This meeting was attended by around 1000 of his fans from various districts. The actor had called for this meet to thank all his fans for abiding by his word and supporting the AIADMK during the recent polls despite belonging to various political affiliations. Vijay said that he is thankful to all his fans who ensured that the AIADMK won the elections. To celebrate the success, the star treated all his fans with a feast. Present at this event were director SA Chandrasekar, the founder of the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, PRO Selva Kumar, and several Vijay fans. It was also announced that Bussi Anand and G Bhaskar will henceforth function as the administrators of the Vijay Narpani Mandram.

Producers Council’s new decision

An emergency executive committee meeting of Tamil Film Producers Council convened in Chennai on Sunday decided to hold the general council meeting on July 3 to decide on conducting elections to the Council.

Last week, president of the TFPC Rama Narayanan resigned from his post following which S A Chandrasekar was elected as the new chief. However, a section of office-bearers opposed this move.

Following this, the emergency executive meeting was covenened on Sunday where it was decided to hold the general council meet on July 3. It was also decided to form a five-member committee led by KRG to take care of some important issues.

The Sunday meeting also passed a resolution greeting AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa for becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the third time. It also conveyed wishes to Vijayakanth, Sarathkumar and others from the tinsel town who were elected to the Assembly.

It’s SA Chandrasekar’s turn to get into trouble

Vijay’s dad and director, SA Chandrasekar, is set on releasing his forthcoming flick Sattapadi Kuttram just before the state assembly elections and set the ball in motion. However, things are not moving well for this veteran director as a politician has insisted that the film first be showcased to the Election Commission before its release as it may violate the rules of the EC. Following this, several theatre owners and distributors are pondering if there would be a problem with Sattapadi Kuttram’s release and some have already decided to back off. With this unexpected problem cropping up in the last minute the director is doing all that he can to ensure the film’s release on March 25th as intended.
