They stated that :

“ vijay's biggest movie made on a budget of 45 crore and a total cost of 60 crore ...as of 25th november 2011 this movie has made almost 85 crores and is still going strong..trade pundits are predicting that velayudham will break dasavatharam's record.. again lets be reasonable and accept the facts ”

this is a reason of controversy..the movie produced on a budget of 85 crore incured othrer huge expenses like publicity costs..the movie which saw the biggest release of surya grossed more than 80 crores..trade pundits are predicting that the gross collections of this movie will stop at around 90 crores...considering the total cost of the movie which is over 110 crore, this movie was a failure for every1.. surya fans pls dnt argue..accept the facts.

Vijay has expressed his desire to be part of movies that offer versatile roles to him. But the Ilayathalapathy of Tamil cinema wants those films to fall under the commercial format. "Because commercial cinema is something which I have been successful at," he says.

Happy with the success of 'Velayudham', his Deepavali release, the actor says, "It was my longtime desire to work with Jayam Raja and so was the director's too. I started feeling positive vibes right from the first day of the shoot and when 60 percent of the movie was shot, I was confident about it's success."

Speaking on comparisons with 'Azad', Vijay further said, "Anyone can find a lot of differences between Azad and Velayudham. The director has made interesting changes to the story and screenplay to make it close to the hearts of Tamil audience."

Vijay is currently on a break, spending time with his parents, wife and children. Earlier this week, the actor's mother and singer Shobha Chandrasekaran has been appointed as the Artistic Heritage Consultant by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa

More than 14,500 questions poured in within an hour, something which has never happened so far! With a smile, the star thanked all his fans as they showered him with love, praises and suggestions. It also proves that Vijay has a huge fan base on the net, which has worked to the success of his Velayudham. Velayudham to create record with 6 days bumper opening. Yes, Velayudham will release one day before Diwali(Oct 25th). This is a great move by Aascar Ravichandran because, on Oct 25th, all the screens which are blocked for other Diwali releases will also screen Velayudham. It should be noted that in the last few years no movie has got 6 days opening.

Velayudham shoot has been wrapped up successfully on wednesday. Now, the post production works are going on rapid pace & the team is planning for loads of promotional activities to make sure Velayudham opens bigger than ever.

Here comes VTL exclusive about Nanban & ARM project. We know each & everyone of you are keen to know the name of Vijay in Nanban. In nanban Vijay has 2 names - "Panchavan Parivendan" & " Kosaki Pasapugazh".
