If sources in Kollywood are to be believed, Mani Ratnam has approached Priyanka Chopra to play the female lead in Ponniyin Selvan. The role that Priyanka will essay is that of Vanathi.This is a very weighty role and Mani feels that only Priyanka will fit in. Vanathi is the wife of Raja Raja Cholan who relinquished the throne following a curse. Mani Ratnam is busy with the pre-production works of Ponniyin Selvan and more details pertaining to this film is expected very soon.
