Velayudham shooting at Thiruvananthapuram

We have mentioned enough number of times of Vijay’s Velayudham but still it carries something interesting. Currently the film is on the heels of completion.
According to the sources it is known that the shoot of the film is going at a huge stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Director Jayam Raja is canning some important scenes involved several thousand junior artistes. The team also wrapped up climax scenes in Chennai recently. Vijay is going to coming out with a different and unique look in this film. Genelia and Hansika Motwani are playing the female leads opposite Vijay. The final mixing of the audio is going on in New York and the CD printing process is already in progress. The audio will be out in stores in July.
After finishing the stunt scenes at the stadium, the crew will be flying to abroad to shot one song. With the shoot of the song the film gets completed.
Velayudham is a masala film filled with all right ingredients in right ratio for a block buster hit.

Shooting for Nanban is going on at breakneck pace at Sun Studios, Chennai. Currently Vijay and Srikanth's scenes are being filmed. Word is that Nanban will be wrapped up by August 5th and post-production will get underway.
Shankar being quite the perfectionist is working very hard to ensure that there are no glitches. Insiders are claiming that the ensemble cast which Shankar and the producers took so much time to finalize have gelled perfectly and the results will be evident on the big screen. If all goes according to plan, Nanban will be a Diwali release.

Twin fun in August

It looks like the fans of the 'Ultimate Star' as well as the fans of 'Ilaya Thalapathi' will rule the roost come August.

The reason  - well Vijay's superhero project 'Velayudham' is in its final stages of shooting. The team needs to shoot a couple of songs after which the post-production teams will add the final touchups for the film. Anyways the film will be ready for release by the second or third week in August reveal sources close to the filming unit.

Similarly, director Venkat Prabhu is shooting the final sequences of his Ajith starrer 'Mankatha.' After a good dose of post-production work 'Mankatha' will hit theatres during August. The producer of this flick, Dayanidhi Alagiri, has revealed that the music album of 'Mankatha' will hit stands sometime in July as a precursor to the film's release the following month.

The only other time the films of Ajith and Vijay released during the same time was more than three years back where 'Pokiri' and 'Alwar' crossed swords. But now both the stars are on more friendly terms than ever and this is a very positive sign for fans. Instead of fighting as to which of their icons' film was better they can now enjoy seeing both their films!

Whatever it is the theatre owners are sure to have a good time laughing their way to the banks!

'Pagalavan' to roll out in two months

We had already updated you regarding Vijay agreeing to director’s Seeman's 'Pagalavan.' The script of this film has been ready since two years but did not take off for various reasons. But all that is history now. Vijay will start working for 'Pagalavan' after he wraps up 'Nanban' and 'Velayudham.'
With many government organizations getting privatized, if this trend continues the nation will have to dance to the tunes of the rich and the affluent. This being the backdrop Vijay will appear in this film as a bold and outgoing youngster who will be seen fighting for his rights as well as that of his peers.
The director of the film is positive that this film will be a milestone in Vijay’s career. Seeman is working on certain aspects of the film to suit Vijay.
This film has two heroines. The director is busy finalizing the heroines. Since no names have been finalized yet it leaves us wondering if it will be a known face acting opposite Vijay or whether a debutante will find herself acting opposite Vijay. We will let you know soon as to who will share screen space opposite 'Ilaya Thalapathi.'
The director also recently revealed that 'Pagalavan' will start rolling in a couple of months!

Vijay’s: Kaavalan controversy continues

Close on the heels of a complaint by ‘Kaavalan’ producer Romesh Babu, director Sakthi Chidambaram, who claims himself the co-producer of the Vijay starrer, on Thursday met Chennai city Police Commissioner J K Tripathy and filed a counter-complaint.
Sakthi Chidambaram, who was accompanied by his advocate, said that Romesh Babu enrolled him as a co-producer for the film after receiving Rs 10 crore. “But the movie faced roadblocks due to various reasons,” he said.
“When the project ran into trouble before its release, Romesh Babu assured that he would return the money. But he had not repaid the money even after Kaavalan’s release,” Sakthi Chidambaram alleged.
On Tuesday, Romesh Babu accused Sakthi Chidambaram of criminal intimidation. After lodging a police complaint, Romesh Babu said Sakthi Chidambaram was attempting to usurp Rs 2.75 crore that Sun TV was to have paid the producer for satellite rights of the film.

My fans are in next stage: Vijay

"Things have changed a lot. Vijay fan clubs have become Makkal Iyakkam and my fans are now working hard for the welfare of the people and the society. I am happy about this," Vijay has said.
Replying to questions from the public in a popular vernacular weekly, the actor said, "I never wanted my fans to stagnate. I wanted them to grow and move on to next stage. They are in this phase now."

"Members of Makkal Iyakkam are doing things with a vision. They are in the forefront whenever there is a problem for the people. At the same time, I would also like to request them to concentrate on their families," the Ilaya Thalapathi said.
Quiz him on the recent decision by his 'good friend' Ajith Kumar who dissolved his fan clubs, Vijay, who recently said that he admires Ajith a lot, replied, "It is his personal decision and I cannot interfere in it."

Vijay’s new confusion

vijay-perarasu-10-06-11

It’s a well-known fact that Vijay is close on the heels of completing his 52nd movie Velayudham which is directed by Jeyam Raja. Though it may take few more months for the actor to wrap up Shankar’s Nanban, he had already okayed Seeman’s script that is tentatively titled as Pagalavan with the plans of commencing the project later.
But the latest report is that director Perarasu, who had earlier churned out blockbuster movies like Thirupachi and Sivakasi, has approached Vijay. It is worth mentioning that both of them were supposed to work together again, but didn't happen due to the prior commitments of Vijay.
Closer sources reveal that Vijay is very much impressed with Perarasu's storyline and is keen on working with him again. However, the star seems to be confused over deciding his next project between Seeman and Perasu.
