Producers Council’s new decision

An emergency executive committee meeting of Tamil Film Producers Council convened in Chennai on Sunday decided to hold the general council meeting on July 3 to decide on conducting elections to the Council.

Last week, president of the TFPC Rama Narayanan resigned from his post following which S A Chandrasekar was elected as the new chief. However, a section of office-bearers opposed this move.

Following this, the emergency executive meeting was covenened on Sunday where it was decided to hold the general council meet on July 3. It was also decided to form a five-member committee led by KRG to take care of some important issues.

The Sunday meeting also passed a resolution greeting AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa for becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the third time. It also conveyed wishes to Vijayakanth, Sarathkumar and others from the tinsel town who were elected to the Assembly.

Huge amount spent for Velayudham climax

Here comes great news for Ilayathalapathy Vijay fans regarding his forthcoming film Velayudham. It is heard that the climax scene of the film has been shot in an extra large manner as the producer has invested more money especially for the climax.

In fact Vijay has requested the producer Aascar Ravichandran to spend more money in climax scene. And according the words of Vijay the scene has been shot with over 1000 Vijay fans in a much bigger way. The producers recently spent nearly Rs 2 crore for the introduction song of Vijay, which was shot at Thirumoorthi Hills.

Vijay in the role of a milkman while Hansika and Genelia will star as his love interests in the film. There is going to be a lot of sister sentiment and Saranya Mohan played the role of Vijay’s sister in the film.

There were reports that Ponniyin Selvan was dropped because Mani Ratnam felt that it is not financially viable. Then it was said that he will move over to a romantic flick and this film will mark the debut of Karthik’s son Gautham.

Why Shankar rejected Bharath in Nanban?

Bharath has said that he was initially approached by director Shankar for one of the roles in Nanban. The director had reportedly asked him to keep his dates free so that he could be a part of Nanban.

However, Shankar reverted back to Bharath after a few days saying that he might not fit in the role he had in mind for him. Shankar apparently told Bharath that he would give him an opportunity in one of his future projects. Well, better luck next time Bharath!

He has even told Vijay the story and got his okay. After Vijay recently asked for the full script, he is reported to have told Ameer that he would do whatever the director told him to and leave himself entirely at his creator’s hands.

Ameer saw stupendous success with ‘Paruthiveeran’ and abject defeat with ‘Yogi.’ He’s presently directing Jayam Ravi in a commercial entertainer. Once this is over, he is to start work on ‘Kannabiran.’

“Everyone sees Vijay only as a commercial hero. He has hidden depths in his atlent that is capable of giving award winning performances. One such film is ‘Kannabiran’ that will take his career to heights,” says Ameer in a certificate of merit for Ilaya Thalapathy.

Udhayanidhi Stalin and Ilayathalapathy Vijay seemed to have something brewing between them ever since Kaavalan had a hard time releasing. Vijay accused the DMK family of wielding their political clout to release their family produced films and blocking theaters for other (indie) producers.
SA Chandrasekar also pointed his fingers at the “grandsons of (Karunanidhi)” for allegedly blocking all the theaters and releasing films produced by them. When Udhayanidhi Stalin was questioned about this, he remained dormant before coming out with the answers.
The always insouciant Udhayanidhi Stalin soon came out in the open about what happened between him, Vijay and his father SA Chandrasekar. The Red Giant, in response, tweeted, “SAC sir is angry because he compelled me 2 release his film VELUTHU KATTU in my banner and I didn’t agree for it!”
Also, on why he did not distribute Kaavalan, he said, “I really liked kaavalan! I saw it 1stday 1stshow, after the movie, I called Vijay and congratulated (him) for giving (a) good movie after (a) long time.”
Questions were thrown at him repeatedly on social media networks over the alleged blocking of theaters and inhibiting Kaavalan’s release. The young producer came in defense and cleared the issues but also accused SA Chandrasekar of getting angry with him, since he did not release the film under his banner “Red Giant Movies”.
The Producer earlier tweeted the launch of the trailers and promos of the film “Maaveeran”. He has had the film dubbed from its original Telugu version “Mahadeera”, one of the best Telugu hits of 2010.
The tweet ran thus: “Maaveeran publicity will start in Kalaignar TV network from tonight, Sun Network and Vijay TV from tomorrow evening.” He also said that “Maaveeran” would release on May 27, 2011 and when questioned why he would not air the promos on Jaya TV, he said, “because it is very expensive compared to others

‘Velayudham’ updates

‘Velayudham’ that is directed by Jayam Raja stars Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay, Genelia, Hansika and Saranya Mohan in the lead roles. The grapevine abuzz is that Saranya Mohan plays Vijay’s, that is, Velayudham’s sister in this movie.

We had earlier told you that Hansika Motwani will be playing a typical Tamil ponnu who is very possessive about Vijay in this movie. The tunes for this typical mass commercial entertainer have been scored by Vijay Antony.

Now the latest is that Genelia tweeted to her fans about the climax scene, stating the climax shoot is on and is massive. She also tweeted that the shoot is highly important to the director.

‘Velayudham’s stunt master, Tom Delmar in an exclusive interview with IndiaGlitz had mentioned about massive stunt scenes involved in the movie. Tom Delmar had also told IG that there’s an exclusive action scene by Vijay over a train, helicopter trashes, train explosions and a lot more in store for Ilaya Thalapathi’s fans in this flick.
