We had reported very early that Ponniyin Selvan was going to be made a film. It was dismissed as yet another rumor initially but things kept confirming the news. Right from Mani Ratnam being spotted with Jayamohan and their working together for the film, we had reported it all right exclusively.Now, sources which are the best authentic places have confirmed our exclusive reports. Who best than AR Rahman – an innate part of a Mani Ratnam’s film to confirm it? He has. In a recent interview, when asked about his future plans and projects, he listed, “A film with Rajinikanth, Ponniyin Selvan with Mani Ratnam, and a Hindi film titled Rock Star.”
When asked what he would say to budding music directors, he said, “I don’t know” and he subsequently added, “In every profession, it is passion that brings success. At first, you face failures when you must be passionate enough to succeed.”
So now, it is almost official that AR Rahman is working for Mani Ratnam in Ponniyin Selvan which means that the film is truly gaining shape. When the film releases, it can turn out to be an epic since Mani Ratnam also needs an epic to etch his name in history as one of the best directors in Indian and World Cinema.
