Why Ilayathalapathy Vijay replaced Jayam Ravi in Ameers Kannabiran?

Ameer is presently busy with the making of his upcoming directorial venture titled ‘Aadhibagawan’ which has ‘Jayam’ Ravi and ‘hottie’ Neetu Chandra playing lead roles. For ‘Jayam’ Ravi, the role in the film would be vastly different from the usual lover-boy kind of roles that he gets to play in most of his films. With Ameer at the helm, could it have been any different?

Kollywood sources say that Ameer, who had been planning to cast ‘Jayam’ Ravi as the hero in his upcoming film ‘Kannabiran’ as well, appears to have undergone a change of heart as Ilayathalapathy Vijay is now being spoken about as having replaced ‘Jayam’ Ravi. Incidentally, Ameer’s decision to change the hero coincides with the change of guard in the State in the form of ‘Amma’.

Queries with sources close to Ameer didn’t reveal the exact reason for the reason and remain tight-lipped. It is said that the script of ‘Kannabiran’ is about the protagonist who also happens to be the ‘don’ of his locality. Later, he takes to politics and undertakes welfare measures for the sake of providing succour and relief to the people who had been taken for a ride by the ‘previous regimes’.

As per the story, the protagonist gets killed in the climax by the forces opposing him. Now that Vijay is likely to star in the film, sources say that Ameer might as well decide to change the script to make the ‘protagonist’ survive the final assault by the enemies by making a group of doctors, who were financed by Vijay, save his life!
